Description

Attiswil is a village between Oensingen and Solothurn, located on the edge of the Oberaargau region. The first stone can be seen near the church in Attiswil. The Freistein - a nearby menhir. It is about 3.60 meters high and is rooted halfway in the ground. It is said that fugitives were once inviolable for a certain time if they stayed by it. This is not really proven.

The hiking trail passed through the village into the slope, turned right, led past the Gerberhof into the Burchwald. At its end, I left the marked path: I turned left, climbed along the forest edge, then back into the woods. Leaves, rotten branches, a ridge. On the other side was the Bernerstein, a mossy erratic block of 200 cubic meters.

Soon I was back on the hiking trail and arrived some time later in Wiedlisbach. The Counts of Frohburg established it around 1240 to control the Hauenstein road. Two alleys and three rows of houses, what a touching, brave little town.

The last stretch to Oberbipp was short. Schloss Bipp high on the slope was barely discernible, remained a fairy-tale sketch in the haze. In Oberbipp, I found the third stone of my hike behind the church. Actually, it was a stone arrangement: side blocks with a slab of six square meters above. A prehistoric chamber grave, a dolmen.

I was impressed. Only hunger disturbed my spiritual high flight. I looked around and found the Bear. Soon afterwards, an excellent lunch was served to me, and I thought: Neolithic, very interesting. But one surely eats better in modern times.
