Description

The starting point of this winter hike is the idyllically located hamlet Tarasp Fontana, below Tarasp Castle, the landmark of the Lower Engadine. From here, the path runs along the scarcely used road past the Trinity Church towards Chaposch. From Chaposch we walk over open terrain, with a view of Tarasp Castle. A short section goes through forest before reaching the next hamlet, Florins. After this small settlement, the path continues again through undeveloped landscape, over meadows and through some forest to the next location of the winter hike, Tarasp Sgné. There is the option to end the route and return by PostAuto to Fontana or Scuol. Those who want to complete the round walk continue over the road and further uphill to the last hamlet, Sparsels. Engadine houses with sgraffito, a direct view of the castle, and the gourmet restaurant of the Schloss Hotel Chasté characterize Sparsels. Downhill and past the castle, the path finally leads back to Fontana, where there is a PostAuto connection to Scuol.

Schellen-Ursli filming location: School The school of Schellen-Ursli stands in Florins and is the "Chasa 112." The house is not accessible, but you can easily imagine how the children had snowball fights here, during which they even caught the teacher…

All filming locations of the Schellen-Ursli film can be found here.
