This hike takes you along the Rhine landscape, past the Wagenhausen provost church and the monasteries of St. Katharinental and Alt Paradies; through the Schaarenwald nature reserve with its historic fortifications to Schaffhausen. There are various barbecue sites and seating areas along the Rhine where you can relax and enjoy the scenery, with various places to stop for refreshments along the way and lovely bathing spots where you can cool off. The hike can easily be shortened or combined with a boat trip.
