Description

From St. Antönien Rüti (last parking lot P5), the first part of the route follows the groomed road (not open in winter) and then turns left uphill towards Partnunsee. This is left behind on the right and you climb via the Partnuner Meder northwestwards. At 2100 m above sea level, you cross northwards to the entrance to the Gemstobel, usually requiring carrying skis briefly (rock step and snow gully with 35-40° on 60 vertical meters). Through the Gemstobel, you reach the upper karst area in a westerly direction. From there, you go southwards uphill to the ski depot on the ridge of Sulzfluh. The summit is reached with or without skis eastwards over the ridge. With good visibility, you can see, among others, the Bernina group, Silvretta, Valais and Bernese Alps, and even Lake Constance.

The descent goes down through the Gemstobel to Partnun. Assuming safe snow conditions, the descent through the gorge down to the Lindauer hut is challenging. In firn conditions, a descent over the karst area down to the Tilisuna hut is very enjoyable. From there, you reach Partnun via the Tilisuna-Fürggli.
