Stroller Hike: With the Gondola to the Jura Heights
Description
This hike is located in the highest region of Baselbiet. The possibilities offered here are diverse but rather suitable for older children. The little ones like to play at the large barbecue area with the giant bench and the climbing mountain made of tree trunks. At Waldweid there is the possibility to dine in the restaurant and use the small private playground.
From the Reigoldswil village square bus stop, it is 900 m to the valley station of the aerial cableway. The ride in the panoramic gondola is an experience in itself and awakens holiday memories in us. Upon arrival at Wasserfallen, we will first enjoy the view. We quickly recognize the Gempenfluh by its steeply falling rock face. In the background we see the Vosges and the Black Forest. The yellow signpost shows us the direction to Waldweid. The ascent is quite steep and we take the opportunity to take a break with the grazing llamas. At the large rest area we come across a well-equipped barbecue area with a giant bench and possibilities to play. With enough patience, we can see wild animals from the observation stand opposite. A board presents the kid path. Our path continues to rise slightly. At the highest point, we see a barbecue area to the upper left. It belongs to the kid path, as well as the 70 m long rope railway that we see on the upper right at the edge of the forest. The view up here is very rewarding. To the east we see the Bölchen area and to the south the Alps. At the parking lot, we reach the tree avenue that leads to the mountain restaurant Waldweid. We return on the same path to the mountain station of the Wasserfallen cableway.
