Description
The path starts at the southern end of the San Bernardino hospice. A comfortable path winds through the typical alpine vegetation. First you reach Alp de Muccia, then Alpe Vigon (only a small hut remains of the alpine pasture) and Confin Bass. The path leads to Pass di Passit (Hospice-Pass di Passit approx. 3h) with its two mountain lakes. From the 2028m pass you descend to 1847m along a section of alpine pastures cared for by a shepherd during the summer months. Crossing the Cima de la Duleira, after about 45' you reach Alp d'Arbea at 1823m, then you start the descent passing the Pradiron and Valineu mountains, reaching Pian San Giacomo in just under 2h.
Alternative for San Bernardino: The route can be interrupted at Confin Bass (intermediate station of the lifts) reaching the village of San Bernardino through the "Bosch d'Isola"
Alternative for Pian San Giacomo: The route can be interrupted shortly after Alp d'Arbea, descending through the mountains of Cebi and Pignela and from here reaching Pian San Giacomo via the forest road.
