Description

The St.Gallen Bridge Trail lies within the nature and landscape protection area of the Sitter and Wattbach landscape. The mostly natural river environment is a habitat for many protected and endangered animals and plants.

On the Bridge Trail, there are 18 viaducts, wooden and concrete bridges, and suspension bridges to admire and cross. The hike begins at Haggen-Schlössli, a former baroque country estate, now a public restaurant owned by the city of St.Gallen. It leads down through the ravine to Zweibrücken, then back up the hill and later down into Kubel. Passing under the railway and road viaducts, you enter the ravine, which finally leads to Spisegg. Here we end the hike and take the post bus back to the main station.

The path shows fascinating structures and also historically significant wooden buildings: something for every taste.
