Stage 07 Via Glaralpina - Devilish Schratten labyrinth

The morning bath is taken here in the Glattalpsee – after waking up in the Glattalphütte SAC (1895 m above sea level). From this very lake, the stage climbs on the mountain hiking trail towards Schafboden. Through the Brüelchälen to Mären (2300 m above sea level). Here you cross southeast in a wide arc the extraordinary limestone arena. The area between Pragel and Klausen passes is with just over 50 square kilometers the largest contiguous karst landscape in Switzerland. Soon you cross the canton border into the Urnerland. Then the steep descent leads through the Firnerloch (2247 m above sea level) down to Urnerboden (1383 m above sea level). Here, on the largest alpine pasture in Switzerland, up to 1200 cows are summered.
