Snowshoe route from Magdenau over Wolfensberg to Degersheim

The snowshoe route from Magdenau to Degersheim, perfect for beginners, starts at the Magdenau Monastery at 750 meters above sea level. The starting point can be reached by PostBus from Degersheim or Flawil. The route goes slightly uphill a short distance west of Magdenau through large forests over Altenberg. It continues over open terrain, partly along the cross-country ski trail, past Wittenberg to Moos. Now the route goes quite steeply down into the Ruertal valley to Ruermüli. After crossing the Ruerbach over a small bridge, there are 200 meters of elevation to overcome. Over Wolfensberg, the route then goes downhill over meadows along the cross-country ski trail to Degersheim. The PostBus takes you back to the starting point in Magdenau.
