Description
The sledding run from Prätschli to Obersee is the perfect alternative program to skiing in Arosa. Thanks to the free local bus, the short route back into the village can be driven as often as you like. At the start, the valley is wide open, Prätschli lies at the edge of the forest and offers a beautiful panoramic view over the mountain scenery of Arosa, Davos and Lenzerheide. The view can be enjoyed on the initially relatively flat sledding slope. Here you have to find out how to steer the sled best – because then it really gets going. On a relatively steep slope, the sledding run dives into the sparse forest. It overcomes some sharp curves and crosses the ski slope in Scheitenböden. In a curve, the destination at Arosa station is reached. Here also ends the rail line Chur–Arosa operated by the RhB. Right next door lies Obersee, which in winter is open for ice skating and playing hockey depending on the ice thickness. There is also the possibility to continue by bus to Untersee and add a descent to Litzirüti.
The sledding path includes some sharp curves and leads down through the forest on a relatively steep slope to behind the station.
