Ski tour Schilt: THE classic in Glarus Nord

From the former mountain guesthouse Fronalpstock on the access road in 10 minutes to the Naturfreundehaus Fronalp. Then easily up on a winter hiking path / ski slope to Mittler Stafel (ski lift end station). From Mittler Stafel heading southeast through a small high plateau, then steeply over bushes up into a hollow that leads into the passage between Färistock and Heustöckli. Then uphill over open terrain southeastwards to the foot of the Siwellen (P. 2226), under which there is a steep (about 30 degrees) traversal to the west. Now to the northeast ridge of the Schilt and on this to the summit. Descent is on the same route.
