Description

From Samnaun village, the hike goes through the Val Musauna past the "waterfalls". Since the Sulner glacier has strongly retreated, the amount of water has noticeably decreased. Steeply ascending it goes over the Zeblas meadows to the Zeblasjoch, where the national border to Austria is crossed. After a short descent, it goes uphill once more to the Fuorcla Val Gronda, the highest point of the hike. From there, the hike continues back on Swiss territory down to the Heidelberger Hut, always with the Fluchthorn in sight. The German hut on Swiss soil is managed by an Austrian (mid June to mid September). Just above the Heidelberger Hut lie the foundations of prehistoric alpine huts, which were excavated in 2007. After the rest, the path leads through the Fimbatal to the Gampenalp, where another steep ascent back to the Zeblasjoch awaits. The return to Samnaun village follows the same path.
