Description
The route (T3) to Sidelhorn is an easy mountain hike with magnificent views of the barren and grand natural landscape of the Grimsel area. Those who stand on the summit enjoy not only an impressive view of the Goms and the Bernese high Alps. Also offering a magnificent sight are the ice masses of the Rhone and Oberaar glaciers, the numerous mountain streams in the area, and about a dozen mountain lakes – from the elongated Grimselsee over the deep blue Totensee at the pass summit to various nameless small lakes on the southern slope of the summit. The descent passes by the idyllic Trübtensee. From Bäregg, the view opens onto the UNESCO World Heritage. For the return route, the route via Kessiturm, Chalte Chehr or along Oberaarstraße back to Grimselpass is recommended.
