Description

In 1894, Giovanni Segantini decided to settle in Maloja. The famous pointillist painter and lover of the alpine landscape was inspired by the enchanting scenery and the special light of this quiet mountain village. One hundred years after his arrival in Maloja, the "Sentiero Segantini" was created. The idea and execution owe Maloja to the Basel photographers Labhard and Galli. This wonderful path is about a two-hour walk with 14 stages following Segantini's tracks. At each stage, display panels provide information about the life and work of the artist.
