Seerücken route (Schaffhausen – Siegershausen)

Always near the High Rhine, the Seerücken route leads from Schaffhausen first through the Scharenwald, a peaceful symbiosis of a natural idyll and dead bunker facilities, to Diessenhofen. The medieval core of the charming small town on the High Rhine is particularly worth seeing. Through the plain of the Geisslibach, you then reach Stammheim in Zurich canton, and at Nussbaumen a short detour to the three lakes of the Seebachtal valley is worth it. Several bathing spots invite you to swim in nature.

It then continues via Herdern and Homburg, finally passing near the highest point of the Seerücken, which lies in the forest between Hinterhomburg and Salen-Reutenen. Before Wäldi, the hamlet of Hohenrain follows. Since 2017, the Napoléon Tower has stood there, offering a wonderful view over Lake Constance and the Alpine ridge. Before reaching the destination of the route, two rewarding, naturally interesting intermediate stops await: the erratic boulder garden near Schwaderloh and the Bommer Weiher, an important nature reserve.
