SchweizMobil 82: Seerücken Route Stage 1

Description
A peaceful symbiosis in the Scharenwald: hidden old bunkers from the Second World War and rare forest communities share the quiet forest reserve on the Rhine. Also still by the river lies the medieval bridge town of Diessenhofen. The Stammheim wine region with its many splendid half-timbered houses lies flat.
While the Hüttwilerseelein still sparkle below, it slowly rises up the Seerücken, the flat ridge. The route leads unspectacularly peacefully through meadows and small woods, past lonely farms with their mighty walnut trees. The orchards increase.
Romantic are the two Bommer ponds, rare the inns, primeval the glacial erratics in Schwaderloh and spectacular the panoramic view of the Alps. Occasionally the wide Lake Constance appears in the distance, but the route remains in the quiet hinterland before finally seeking the shore in the Roman town of Arbon.
