Description
Schüpfheim in the center of the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch offers its holiday guests a rich cultural, sports, and leisure program. Schüpfheim is located centrally at the widest point of the Kleine Emme valley. The original street village burned down in May 1829, and the rebuilding was used to create a generous, expandable village center. Since then, Schüpfheim has lived up to its role as the main town while still keeping atmosphere and idyll.
The Schüpfer trail is easily accessible and starts at Migros. With gentle ascents and descents, you pass by Dänili to Wolfgang Chapel, Brüggmösli, and finally back to the start at Migros. With a view of the Farneren, you don't get the feeling of being in the middle of the village. The Schüpfer trail is a rather small cross-country ski trail but maintained with great dedication. Beginners as well as advanced skiers can practice cross-country skiing right in the village of Schüpfheim (Wiesland). Of these, 3 km (713 to 730 m above sea level) are very easy for beginners. The entire course is also used as a training trail by the sports gymnasium and schools.
