Description

Accompanied by ten newly designed information boards, the path is an exciting and educational nature trail with wonderful views and lots of pure nature. A highlight of the path is a mechanical Stöckli forming machine from 1910, which can be seen at one of the stations. From the starting point Habergschwänd, you walk towards the experience cheese dairy Nüenalp over the Sattelboden with a new fireplace and mountain panorama to Mullerenberg and from there via Chummenwald to the destination of the hike, the Naturfreundehaus Fronalpstock. On the way and at the destination, you are rewarded with a magnificent view over the whole Glarus region and the Linth plain and definitely deserve a tasty meal, for example, Zigerhöräli.

An eventful circular hike results in combination with the UNESCO Geo-Phenomena Trail. For the circular hike, you should plan 2 days. Along the path, there are several overnight accommodation options.

As a continuation, you can hike over the Ennetberge to Glarus station (5.6 km, 951 meters descent in 2 hours) or close the loop as a two-day hike on the Geo-Phenomena Trail back to the starting point Habergschwänd/Filzbach.

If you do not want to descend on foot back to Näfels-Mollis station (6.4 km, 960 meters descent in 2 hours), you can order the Reust call taxi in time, 079 283 77 77.

Arrival by public transport starts at Näfels-Mollis station, then by bus to Filzbach Sports Center.
