Description
This hike is a insider tip for nature lovers! The route starts at Bergwelten Salwideli - it is best to plan a break here at the start or the end of the hike - and leads you right into the fascinating moorland Habkern-Sörenberg. Mystical moors, primeval spruces, and mountain pines shape the landscape. The moorland is one of the largest and most impressive moorlands in Switzerland (86 km2). It is also part of the Federal Inventory of Landscapes and Natural Monuments of National Importance (BLN).
Step by step, you approach the steep slopes of the Brienzergrat. It is best to take binoculars with you; you are here in the middle of the Tannhorn hunting reserve. Wildlife such as ibex, marmots, birds of prey, etc. live here and are visible with patience and a keen eye.
At the alp Tannisboden, cattle are summered during the summer months, and alpine cheese as well as other cheese specialties (mutsch, raclette, fine yogurt) are produced. Hikers and bikers can help themselves at the alpine kiosk and enjoy rustic alpine products at the herdsmen's hut with wonderful panoramic views – cheese, dried meat, drinks, and sweets.
Well strengthened, you now head back via Schönisei and Chüblisbüel. At Bärselbach, there is a nice and generous barbecue area, and shortly afterwards, already the next farm kiosk at the richly decorated Alp Schneeberg. A visit is worthwhile! Now it is not far anymore; via Wagliseiboden, you hike back to Bergwelten Salwideli.
