Säntispanorama route

The Säntispanorama route leads you from Herisau past the most beautiful spots and places of the Appenzeller Hinterland. Discover Schwellbrunn, the highest village in Appenzell Ausserrhoden, where you can enjoy a unique view of the Alpstein. Via Schönengrund, the route continues to Urnäsch, the heart of Appenzeller culture. Experience this up close with a visit to the Appenzeller customs museum. From Urnäsch, it goes on to Hundwil and Stein. In Stein, a visit to the show dairy and the Appenzeller ethnographic museum is highly recommended. Over the almost 100 meter high “Ganggelibrugg” and past the idyllic Gübsensee, the route leads back to Herisau.
