The route

Your journey begins in Teufen AR. From here, glide through the gentle hilly landscape down to the charming main town of Appenzell. Take the opportunity for a brief stop at the colorfully painted houses of the main street before the terrain becomes more alpine.

Now follows the highlight for every e-gravel fan: the ascent to Schwägalp. While others struggle with exhausting effort, you enjoy a relaxed view of the impressive Säntis north face thanks to electric assistance. At the mountain pass at 1300 m above sea level, the full Alpine panorama awaits you – the perfect spot for a memorable photo.

The descent leads you through dense forests and over lush alpine pastures down to Urnäsch. But Appenzell still has an ace up its sleeve: the route via Schwellbrunn – the multiple award-winning „most beautiful village in Switzerland“. The ride over the ridge offers you a wide view all the way to Lake Constance. Via the historically rich main town of Herisau, you finally roll back to our hub in Teufen, batteries full of impressions (and maybe a little leftover charge).
