Sälischlössli Olten

The varied circular hike starts on the east side of Olten station and first leads through a quiet neighborhood (Martin-Disteli-Strasse and Wilerfeld) to the Mühletäli Wildlife Park. Just behind it, the ascent to the Sälischlössli begins. A picture-book-like path follows the course of the Mühlibach. A zig-zag path leads through the forest up to the Säli-Schlössli, which today is a popular excursion restaurant. The climb to this viewpoint is very worthwhile. Slightly below the Säli-Schlössli lies the Alt-Wartburg ruins. The 5-minute detour is also worth it there. Mostly wide forest paths then lead down to the mighty facility of the Aarburg fortress. Over the Aare bridge, the path follows the Aare back to Olten. 

Note(s) It is an easy route with a beautiful panorama. Please note that the terrace for the 360-degree view is only accessible during the restaurant's opening hours. 

Make a detour to Olten's old town, which is only four minutes from Olten station.
