Description
Along the route of the former Rigi-Scheidegg railway, this effortless but scenic path leads initially on a completely flat stretch to Rigi First. From the southern lakeside, the snow-covered Alpine peaks greet you. From Rigi First, there is a descent to the cozy alpine inn Heiri-Hütte, which invites you to a hearty Alpine snack. Afterwards, the walking path continues in elegant bends downhill to the historic pilgrimage site Klösterli, where numerous Capuchin monks once lived. The charming pilgrimage chapel "Maria zum Schnee" (built in 1689) is one of the most beautiful mountain chapels worldwide. By cogwheel railway, you reach Goldau, the traffic hub of the region.
