Richetli Pass

Description
This hike is demanding and in the evening you will have some elevation meters in your legs. From Elm, it goes about 1,200 meters uphill to the 2,261 m high Richetli Pass and then relatively steeply 1,600 m down via the Durnach valley to Linthal.
The ascent to the pass over the Wichelmatt is manageable. Once at the pass, which is by the way the lowest point between Hausstock and Kärpf, you enjoy a magnificent view towards Klausen Pass and Braunwald as well as into the Tektonic Arena Sardona. From the pass, it then goes steeply down into the wild Durnach valley and requires some concentration. The path is partly quite exposed and the grassy bands slippery. At the Vorderdurnach valley alp, we deserved a small refreshment before continuing along the Durnagel, which cuts deep into the valley floor, to Linthal. Since the Durnagel often brings a lot of debris, it was tamed by means of 82 check dams.
