Rhine Route (St. Margrethen – Kreuzlingen)

This stage mainly follows along the wide Lake Constance, where orchards and castles adorn the shores of the green and silver shimmering "Swabian Sea." The route has virtually no climbs and, although not continuously on the original path, runs along historically significant traffic routes by the lake shore, which were already used in the Middle Ages.

At the start, the route goes through the Rhine delta and along the old Rhine. Then the lake towns of Rorschach, Arbon, and Romanshorn are passed. All three offer a wide range of cultural activities and varied gastronomy. In between, many swimming spots and idyllic lakeside baths line the way, inviting you for a cool dip.
