Description

The route starts at the boat landing stage in Diessenhofen and leads upriver first through the medieval alleys of this small town, then through the river bathing spot Rodenbrunnen and afterwards always directly on the bank of the Rhine to the beautifully located inn Schupfen.

Then the route rises through a quiet forest area to Rodenberg, where the historic Generalstand is located. From this vantage point, around 1800 the French General Lecoube led an army of 30,000 men trying to reach the German shore. A well-equipped fireplace there also invites to "barbecue".

The route then goes back down to the bank of the Rhine. At the campsite in Wagenhausen, which the hiking trail passes through, there is another opportunity to stop at the country inn. Finally, the path follows the Rhine again and crosses the bridge to the destination, the boat landing stage of the medieval small town Stein am Rhein.
