R9 La Reine Medio Fondo

This sporty circular route for road cyclists starts in Gstaad and leads over the low-traffic Mittelberg Pass (1,632 m above sea level) with a mostly steady ascent and magnificent views of the Gruyère region. After the rapid descent through the Jaun valley, you reach the medieval town of Gruyères after Broc – ideal for a short break. The route continues through the idyllic Intyamon to Montbovon. Here begins the second longer ascent through the Pays-d'Enhaut, past Château-d'Oex and Rougemont, back to Saanen. The route combines quiet side roads, scenic variety, and cultural highlights – ideal for ambitious riders who want to combine pleasure and sporting challenge.
