Description
The snowshoe route starts at Preda station. Preda is only accessible by train in winter. The first meters are on the pass road and snowshoes do not necessarily have to be worn at the beginning. Soon the route leads across country on a well-prepared snowshoe trail along the Albulapass road. After a short time, you reach Paluegna Lake, which is usually frozen in winter. Here the route can be shortened for the first time. A little further on, the trail merges again with the pass road up to Alp Crap Alv. From here it goes cross-country along the south flank towards Albulapass. After the wooded section, there is avalanche danger, and the upper hiking trail should definitely be avoided in the afternoon. The lower path, which is also recommended on this route, is safe. Once reached the pass road, the route goes back to Alp Crap Alv. The return mostly follows the snow-covered pass road. The last section leads through the forest back to the starting point at the station.
