Best Time of Year
Description
The sledding run from Prätschli to Obersee is the perfect alternative to skiing in Arosa. Thanks to the free local bus, the short route back to the village can be traveled as many times as you like. At the start, the valley is wide open; Prätschli is located at the edge of the forest and offers a beautiful panoramic view of the mountain scenery of Arosa, Davos, and Lenzerheide. The view can be enjoyed on the initially relatively flat sledding slope. Here, you’ll find out the best way to steer the sled – because then it really takes off. With a fairly steep gradient, the sledding run dives into the light forest. It overcomes some sharp bends and crosses the ski slope at Scheitenböden. In a curve, the destination at Arosa station is reached. Here also ends the Chur–Arosa railway line operated by the RhB. Right next door lies Obersee, which in winter is open for ice skating and hockey depending on ice thickness. There is also the option to continue by bus to Untersee and add a descent to Litzirüti.
The sledding path includes some sharp turns and leads down through the forest on a fairly steep gradient to behind the station.
