Description

The route leads from St.Gallen to Steinach on Lake Constance: along the way, the planets are represented as models in such a way that the distances of the different planets correspond to the size ratios in the solar system to scale. In this case, the scale 1:1 billion was chosen. One meter on the hiking trail corresponds to 1 million km in space. In addition, an information board next to each planet provides basic knowledge in astronomy.

The walk from the sun to the earth is a short stroll within the Botanical Garden in the east of St.Gallen. The second part, from Mars to Pluto, is formed by the hiking trail from St.Gallen via Mörschwil to Obersteinach. On the following natural paths, in addition to discovering the universe, you can also enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Constance. The end of the trail is the Glinzburg near Obersteinach with the most distant and smallest planet Pluto.
