Piz Urtiola or Urtiolaspitz + Piz Terza from Lü (Val Monastero - Val Müstair)

Snowshoe hike entirely on a south-facing slope going quite high on a very panoramic peak on the border between Switzerland and Italy.

There is a summer path that climbs Piz Urtiola from Italy in Val d’Avigna, but for snowshoe ascent, you must start from Switzerland.

At the summit, there is a cross for Piz Urtiola and a signpost for Piz Terza on a slightly lower subpeak by a couple of meters.

It is not a very long snowshoe hike that can be enjoyed with various breaks without time problems, but you must consider the fully south exposure that can cause some discomfort during descent with wet snow at certain seasonal moments.
