Description
From La Veduta:
From La Veduta (2237.9 m), starting leftwards heading south toward the shoulder P. 2449. From here, one crosses without much elevation loss the steep southwest flank of Piz da las Coluonnas P. 2451, and continues steeply up to P. 2633. Then over the rather steep south spur up into a flat hollow. Here you turn east and reach the summit via the ridge that narrows in the upper part. 2.5 hrs.
Descent: along the ascent route
Descents over the north flank to Alp Giüglia:
Impressive steep descents through the two north couloirs, which require safe conditions (30-35° over 350 meters vertical, two steep sections up to 40°). The descent routes are well visible from the Julier Pass road. Only for alpine-experienced ski tourists.
Eastern north couloir: From the summit briefly over the northeast ridge until you can traverse left into the funnel-shaped cirque. Descend through this, over a short steep section keeping right into a couloir below. At its lower end again over a rock step, then less steep rightwards to the pass road by Alp Giüglia (2215 m).
Western north couloir: From the summit briefly back along the ascent route until you can descend into the steep funnel-shaped north slope west of P. 2818. In the middle section, a rock-strewn steep step is overcome keeping left. East of the rocks, now less steep to a prominent shoulder. The rock step below is bypassed on the right, and you reach the pass road at Julier Pass (2284 m) or Alp Giüglia (2215 m).
