Description
From Chamanna Jenatsch:
From Chamanna Jenatsch (2652 m) to the NW, until you can ascend to the left to the Vadret Calderas at P. 2963. Continue SW at the foot of the N face of Piz Picuogl upwards to the flat glacier saddle. Then N, passing left of P. 3166 and over the increasingly steep final slope to the summit. 2.5 hrs.
Descent: along the ascent routes. You can also descend directly south from P. 3084 through a small col to Vadret Calderas.
Descent via Plang Lung to Sur:
Demanding descent in the upper part through the steep W couloir (average slope 35° over 300 m height difference, up to 40° in the upper part). Only for confident skiers in perfect snow conditions. Protected areas north and south of Sur must be observed.
Descent: from the summit (3397 m) along the ascent route to the glacier saddle south of P. 3166. Now carefully down the initially steep and narrow W couloir into a large basin. Plang Lung and along the Ava da las Tigias down to the mountain hut Piz Platta by Tigias (www.flix.ch). Along the alpine road, finally over meadows or via P. 1897.8 directly to Sur (1537 m).
Descent via Tellers Davains to Sur:
Demanding descent, quite exposed in the upper part. Only in perfect visibility and snow conditions (in the Curanegl couloir 35 - 40° over 400 m height difference). Protected areas north and south must be observed.
Descent: from the summit directly SW over the rocky flank and then along a narrow snow ridge to a protruding shoulder. Now down right through a weakly developed col at the north foot of the rocks of Piz Cucarnegl (3051 m) until reaching a wide steep basin. Descend less steeply northwards into the Tellers Davains basin and to Alp Flix and further to Sur (1537 m).
