Piz Buin trek

Description
The route starts at the square in Galtür and ends at the Madlenerhaus, below the dam of the Silvretta reservoir on the Bielerhöhe. We mainly follow the border ridge westward. Consequently, the number of border crossings is very high. The huts we visit during our route are generally situated in a nice, easily accessible location and are no more than four to five hours apart. However, because we sometimes climb summits, we will occasionally be on the move for a lot longer!
Despite the fact that the Silvretta is a well-accessible mountain range, we will often travel over untracked terrain to reach the next hut. Over green meadows, scree slopes, boulder fields, through snow and ice, and past small lakes our route leads us to the most beautiful parts of the Silvretta, where, aside from the surroundings of some huts, we usually encounter only a few people.
The passes (called Scharte, Lücke, Joch, Fuorcla or Pass depending on size and language region) are mostly located at 2600 to 2900 meters. We will, if possible, climb several summits: Grenzeckkopf / Piz Faschalba (3048 m), Breite Krone (3079 m), Westliche Plattenspitze (2883 m), Sonntagspitze (2882 m) and Hochmaderer (2823 m).
