Description
The hike starts in Mellikon and leads you through picturesque forests and over green meadows to Wislikofen and thus to the impressive monastery complex, which you will already see from afar. Here you have the opportunity to take a break and admire the historic architecture. The path then leads you first up to the Belchen, one of the highest mountains in the region. From there, you are offered a breathtaking panoramic view over the entire surroundings.
The next section of the hike leads you to Kaiserstuhl, the historic small town on the banks of the Rhine. Take a break here to explore the picturesque alleys and half-timbered houses and refresh yourself in a cozy café.
On the way back to Mellikon, the route runs along the Rhine, past idyllic landscapes. Along the way, you can enjoy the peace and beauty of nature and perhaps even discover some of the rare animal and plant species native to this region.
