Description
From Müllheim, the path leads up through the Egg forest to the Klingenberg castle complex, whose history dates back to the 13th century and which includes a chapel built in 1695 by Muri Monastery. The path continues to ascend to Homburg, passing the church to the house «Lören» and from there towards «Geisshus» to the water reservoir.
After a stretch in the forest, it goes southwards, where you reach a panoramic signboard with an inviting barbecue area. From here the path leads to just before Haidenhaus, the highest point of the hike. You stand at one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Thurgau. On clear days, the view extends far into the Bernese Alps and to the peaks of Central Switzerland. The path then enters the forest, where you soon enjoy the splendid Untersee landscape with Schiener Berg, Hohenklingen Castle, and the gently rolling Rodenberg.
On the descent to the Untersee, after leaving the Haiden forest, there is also a view of the Höri peninsula.
