Description

The panorama trail is a technically easy circular route. The view over the southern part of the Glarus region, with its characteristic mountains Ortstock and Tödi, is always impressive anew.

From Grotzenbüel, the slightly ascending path leads in about 55 minutes to Chnügrat (elevation difference approx. 320 meters), where a magnificent view of the Bächital valley and the Glarus Alps awaits you. From Chnügrat, you hike in about 20 minutes to the - practically at the same altitude - Seblengrat. From there, the route continues through the gallery in the rock (a real natural spectacle in winter!) on to the Gumen. The Gumen - a popular starting point for climbing experiences (via ferrata and climbing garden) - offers not only a breathtaking panorama of the Tödi and Ortstock mountains but also a variety of plants. Via Ortstockhaus, the path leads gently downhill in about 1 ½ hours back to Grotzenbüel.

Whether enjoying coffee and cake in the mountain restaurants Gumen, Ortstockhaus, or Chämistube, barbecue at one of the open fireplaces, or a detour into the fairy-tale world of dwarf Bartli (dwarf castle, dwarf cave, and gemstone crevice), the panorama trail invites you to linger at various points and guarantees an unforgettable hiking experience.
