Description
The path begins at Reutenen; alternatively, you can also start at the former Haidenhaus restaurant. Along the way, you pass the Waldriet Grosswis, which is listed in the federal inventory of amphibian spawning areas of national importance and is a paradise for nature lovers: you can find grass and water frogs, common and midwife toads, as well as thread and alpine newts. In the immediate vicinity is also the highest point of the Seerücken at 721 meters above sea level.
The circular route also passes an impressive viewpoint with a panorama board. It names over 270 peaks from the Allgäu, Vorarlberg, Rätikon, Alpstein, Churfirsten, St. Gallen Oberland, Glarus, Inner Switzerland and Bernese Alps, which can be seen in good visibility. Experts call this place the most beautiful viewpoint in Thurgau. Near the panorama board, there is also a rest area with a table, benches, and a fire pit, inviting you to linger.
