Description
From the Zimmerwald Post bus stop, the route initially follows the cantonal road towards Niedermuhlern for just under half a kilometer. Before the church, the signpost points right onto a field path. Before the observatory, a bench invites you to rest and enjoy the view from Bantiger across the four-thousanders of the Bernese Alps to the Gantrisch range. The route continues on natural roads through the hamlet of Waldhof to Allmidhölzli and along the forest edge to Allmid, Pt. 917. Here the route turns left. In Obermuhlern, it goes slightly right downhill to Bachmühli. At the junction with the cantonal road, follow it about 100 meters to the right past the noteworthy mill and the Bachmühli restaurant. A millstone recalls that grain was once ground here into flour using the power of the Scherlibach. Then turn left and follow the road past the individual farms of Brönni to the hamlet of Bumishus. Here continue right, through the Tschugge forest, passing to the right of the hamlet Oberflüe. At the entrance to Borisried, a short footpath leads past the former Borisried schoolhouse to the cheese dairy and a few steps to the left to the Borisried restaurant. Here the route turns right. Over field paths, through pastures, and finally on a sometimes steep forest path, you reach the Schwarzwassergrabe. Downstream, a gentle path leads to the old Schwarzwasser bridge. Cross it and follow the road to the finish at the Bern-Schwarzenburger line.
