On the roof of Switzerland

Description
On the Mettlenalp, follow the hiking trail, which initially runs relatively flat in a northwesterly direction. After just under a quarter of an hour, the climb becomes significantly steeper. Soon, you'll see the panorama that makes this hike so special: mountains as far as the eye can see. Once you reach the Napf, it's worth enjoying the view in all directions. Even the sweeping view down into the Swiss Plateau is impressive. The reason for the exceptional panoramic view isn't the Napf's altitude, which is "only" 1,405 meters above sea level. But because the Napf is the highest elevation for miles around, you feel like you're on the roof of Switzerland.
Now the actual high-altitude trail begins. It alternates between forests, along the edge of the forest, and briefly over roads. One magnificent view follows the next, so you'll repeatedly come across places where you'll want to linger. First, you descend from the Napf to the Änzisattel and then climb up to Hochänzi. There, the self-catering stand with cool drinks comes in handy. Another destination is the Lushütte. Now the final two hours of the hike begin, with significantly more downhill than uphill. This will give tired leg muscles, for which the constant alternation between uphill and downhill is likely to be a challenge, a little relief.
