Olten-Aarau-Olten

The bicycle route runs from Olten along the left bank of the Aare to Winznau, Ober- and Niedergösgen, then to Schönenwerd and Aarau. The path alternates between the Aare canal and the Old Aare. The Aare is crossed several times. This route to Aarau is part of the Aare Route (8) and the Mittelland Route (5) of Switzerland Mobility. In Aarau, the Aare is crossed again near the electricity works, and then the route follows the Aare back towards Niedererlinsbach, Stüsslingen (from Aarau to Stüsslingen along the North-South Route (3) of Switzerland Mobility), continuing to Lostorf and Mahren. Where possible, the path runs on field paths rather than main roads. From Mahren, it heads towards Trimbach to the train station and Rankwog, where it again follows the Aare back to Olten. The start and end point is the Schützenmatte in Olten.

Note(s) This is an easy, very family-friendly route. In Schönenwerd, a detour to the Bally Park is worth it.
