Description
The entrance to the trail is directly after the campsite in Oberiberg, near Petersboden. The trail leads through open landscape, past the chalet settlement Spätzeren, from where an entrance is also possible. Once you have gained some height and passed through the sparse forest, you have a clear view of the village Oberiberg, the Sihl valley and the surrounding mountains. From Furggelen you enjoy an incomparable view of the impressive Mythen, Lake Lucerne and the mountain world.
This view continues to accompany you on the way from Furggelen to Furggelenstock and further to Ibergeregg.
Arrived at Ibergeregg, you deserve a break, the large sun terrace of the Hotel Passhöhe invites you to rest and linger.
From Ibergeregg a gentle descent follows on the old mule track, the "Old Schwyzerweg" through the open moorland. This historic path was created in the 14th century and was considered the shortest connection between Ybrig and Schwyz.
The snowshoe trail from Ibergeregg is partly led next to the ski slope. Leaving the marked snowshoe trail is not permitted in the nature reserve, dogs must always be kept on a leash.
