Nydegghöchi - viewpoint in the Schwarzenburg region

At the starting point of the hike, choose the route towards Wahlern, although the final destination of this hike, Schwarzwasserbrücke, is also indicated. As the associated walking time suggests, the routes are not identical. The town of Schwarzenburg is left heading east. Then turn left. Along a field path, which later becomes a road, it goes directly towards the church of Wahlern. It is recommended to stroll around the church to enjoy the view. You can see the Freiburg region, the Jura, the Bütschelegg, and the Gantrisch chain. Then continue hiking towards Schwarzwasserbrücke. Along forest edges, across fields and meadows, and through a short forest section, you reach on footpaths and roads Krummoos Pt. 798. From here, turn off towards Nydegghöchi. Soon the viewpoint is reached on a field path. The panoramic view surprises and compensates for the detour to Nydegghöchi: you can see from the Jura over the hills of Längenberg to the Bernese Alps, over the Gantrisch chain to the Freiburg Alps. The hike continues to the hamlet of Nydegg, where Schwarzwasserbrücke is now indicated on the signpost. It is reached first on level ground, later downhill on roads and a short section through the forest until you are on a footpath. Not only at the mentioned points is it worth enjoying the panorama with the Gantrisch chain, the Jura, or the Längenberg with the Bütschelegg.
