Description

The route begins in Romanshorn, where the rental bike can be obtained at the station, and leads along Lake Constance past the lakeside resorts in Romanshorn and Altnau, both promising refreshment. A detour to the demonstration and teaching garden in Güttingen and the apple trail in Altnau is worthwhile, both offers providing interesting information about apples.

The route then continues to Kreuzlingen and along the Untersee. Soon the Arenenberg rises, one of the most beautiful spots in Thurgau. A visit to the castle with the Napoleon museum should also be planned. In Steckborn, the route leaves the lakeshore and follows a climb before crossing the Seerücken plateau and passing east of the Ottenberg to reach Weinfelden.

Those who want to avoid the climb up the Seerücken can take the hourly S14 (Thurbo regional train, direction Weinfelden) from Kreuzlingen to Siegershausen. From there, ride about one kilometer west to Alterswilen, where the route is picked up again.
