Description
This route starts in Kreuzlingen, the border town separated only by the Kunstgrenze of Johannes Dörflinger from the German town of Konstanz. Rental bikes (Regivelo) can be borrowed directly at the station and then you’re off. Passing through the historic Gottlieben and Ermatingen, you reach Salenstein, where the Arenenberg overlooks the Untersee. There is the Napoleon Museum, the only German-speaking museum on Napoleonic history. The magnificent gardens and the Bistro Louis Napoleon with its inviting garden restaurant are definitely worth a visit.
The route continues via Mannenbach and Berlingen to Steckborn. The idyllic See- und Parkhotel Feldbach invites for refreshment before a climb to the Seerücken follows. The effort is quickly forgotten when the magnificent view of the Alpstein mountain range opens up. Finally, it goes via Pfyn, a former Roman castle, to the Kartause Ittingen near Warth.
