Description

This route starts at the station in Kreuzlingen, where rental bikes can be obtained if needed. The border town on Lake Constance already has a lot to offer: The Rosenegg Museum provides much interesting information about Kreuzlingen and the region, sweet tooths come to their own at Chocolat Bernrain, and the planetarium takes its guests into the world of astronomy.

The route then leads through the quiet Untersee area. Via Ermatingen, Steckborn and Mammern, all picturesque fishing villages, you reach Stein am Rhein. On the way, a detour to the beautifully situated Arenenberg is worthwhile, where the Napoléon Museum is located. The splendidly laid-out gardens are also worth a visit.

From Stein am Rhein, the route goes around the Stammerberg and through the open Seebach valley to the Carthusian Ittingen. There, the wonderful garden restaurant in the courtyard invites you to stop by, and the Ittingen Museum lets you discover everything about life in this former monastery complex.
