Description

The demanding circular hike, which was newly extended a few years ago, starts in Monti di Motti. The much-visited village can be reached by car via a winding forest road from Cugnasco. After about 10 minutes on the asphalt road, you reach the red and white mountain path towards Alpe Fopiàna. The path climbs gently through the beech forest to the alp, where you enter a dense spruce forest. The path zigzags steeply up to the dry stone wall "Muro dei Polacchi". The wall is said to have been built by Polish internees around 1940. The ascent to the summit is blue-white, as it leads over a boardwalk winding along the rock and includes some exposed sections. These are secured by ropes. Take the same route back to the red and white mountain path, which now leads down to Gana. From here, take the tarred road back to Monti di Motti, where you can take a break at the restaurant of the same name.

Those who want to save themselves the long way back on the paved road return along the same route as the ascent.
