Monte di Comino circular hike

The cable car station, which goes to Comino (1200 m above sea level), is located in Verdasio in the Centovalli. With the modern cable car you float comfortably from Verdasio up to Monte di Comino. Already here you enjoy a magnificent mountain panorama.

From the mountain station, go left towards Grotto Alla Capanna. The large sun terrace with a view into the wild romantic Centovalli invites you to stop for a meal.  The path continues towards the chapel Madonna della Segna, located at 1176 m. From there, turning slightly right, you reach the nearby peat bog of Pian della Segna with its typical water plants. A place definitely worth a short detour. 

Back at the chapel, go right through dense beech forests towards Dröi. The small hamlet with its scattered houses lies picturesque on a sunny slope, with a dreamy view of Lake Maggiore and the Centovalli. The way back partly goes over granite-carved rock steps, partly over extensive meadows and pastures, passing many lovingly restored rustic houses.
