Description

At the starting point of the hike at Corcelles BE train stop, follow the direction to Le Petit Pré. Do not be confused by the different routes and various Raimeux destination signs. From the train stop, a footpath leads down to the main road, where you turn left. Shortly after, cross the Gore Virat stream on a bridge. Immediately after, turn left and cross the stream again. Ascending, you reach the forest. At Le Gore Virat the stream must be crossed. Then follows another, now steep ascent on a path. A level forest path with a short road section with gradient allows to catch your breath before another ascent leads to the height at Le Petit Pré. From here, follow the indication Raimeux/Sommet. Up to the Raimeux summit, the route continues uphill alternating over meadows and forest along the ridge. The location offers views into the canton of Jura, as the cantonal border lies on the ridge. Delémont can be spotted. The lookout tower and a resting place on the Raimeux summit invite to take a break. Here lies the highest point of the canton of Jura. The continuation of the hike leads on level ground past Raimeux de Grandval to Raimeux Cabanne CAS (SAC hut Raimeux). For the further descent, the route via Raimeux de Belprahon is suggested. From here, the view opens to Moutier and the Birse valley. In the forest, the path zigzags steeply downwards. At two places, it touches the rock edge of the Gorge de Moutier, offering a deep view into the gorge. After leaving the forest, you arrive via neighborhood streets at the destination at Moutier train station.
