Description
From the baroque town of Solothurn to the largest vegetable garden in Switzerland leads this beautiful bike route. Before starting the route, it is worth taking a stroll through the old town alleys of Solothurn, the most beautiful baroque town in Switzerland. The landmark of the town is the St. Ursus Cathedral. 249 steps lead up to the tower and the great panoramic view. At 66 meters height, the view is magnificent; dizzying is the deep look down to the old town where many discoveries await, e.g., the Old Arsenal with its knight armors or the natural history museum.
The bike route then follows along the Aare, past historic small towns and romantic nature reserves. After 30 kilometers, Lake Biel is already in sight, enchanting with charming vineyard villages and the romantic St. Peters Island. Sightseeing is offered at the Info Centre Witi and the waterfowl breeding colonies in Fanel on the southern shore of Lake Neuchâtel. Overall, the Three-Lakes Region with Lake Biel, Lake Neuchâtel, and Lake Murten invites you to some delightful detours.
